My own life journey has been both a challenge and a joy; growing up I experienced anxiety issues and as a young woman fertility issues. My journey has also been interesting, one that initially led me to experience some wonderful therapies that enabled my own healing and then later to train in those therapies myself. I feel I bring an understanding and empathy to my work and now have over 20 years experience as a therapist. I find it both a privilege and a joy to be able to work with people to enhance their health and well-being.
I am an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist and Complementary Therapist, specialising in Reflexology for health and well-being. I have worked for many years in Women's Health and am also proud to be Hypno-birthing pracitioner. I have a background as a Counsellor.
I have been fortunate to have trained with David Newton at the Clifton practice for Hypnotherapy in Bristol, one of the leading schools for Hypnotherapy in the UK. This is where I did my first diploma in preparation for childbirth. I have also gone on to train in KG Hypnobirthing with Katherine Graves. I am proud to hold a nationally accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma and I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Association of Reflexologists. These associations ensure that practitioners maintain professional standards, practice within a strict code of ethics and have frequent supervision.
It is important to me to update my skills and I have completed further hypnotherapy training in:_
I trained in Reflexology with the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies. I also had the wonderful experience of attending some Reflexology training with the late Prue Hughes. I am also qualified in Aromatherapy and Reiki. Further training has been undertaken in:_
I am insured to practice and have an enhanced DBS. I have a background working as a Counsellor for a charity and for Cruse Bereavement before working for many years as a Complementary Therapist, both in private practice, for Carer’s Support, for Neal’s Yard Remedies and for Action on Addiction.
In addition, to a private practice I have worked for many years providing Complementary Therapies and regular relaxation classes for clients in rehabilitation for drug/alcohol addiction at Clouds House (part of Action on Addiction).
